Temporary, Education and Tutoring Coordinator

Position Summary The Temporary, Education and Tutoring Coordinator supports the Boys and Girls Club of UAII and is responsible for overseeing education programs and tutoring while providing direct academic support to students. This role combines administrative coordination, curriculum support, and one‑on‑one or small‑group tutoring to help learners achieve academic success. The Temporary, Education and Tutoring Coordinator is a temporary, part‑time grant funded position with limited appointment expected through 12/31/2026. This is a part‑time position up to 16 hours per week. Essential Functions Plan, organize, and coordinate tutoring programs and activities Implement curriculum materials aligned with learning objectives Monitor student progress and program effectiveness Coordinate schedules for tutoring sessions and events Communicate with students, parents, teachers, and staff Maintain records, reports, and student data Ensure compliance with educational policies and standards Perform community outreach to recruit students, including cold calling, and promote tutoring program Provide one‑on‑one and small group instruction in assigned subjects Assess student learning needs and develop individualized learning plans Assist with homework, test preparation, and study strategies Track and report student progress regularly Adapt teaching methods to suit different learning styles Encourage student engagement, motivation, and confidence Perform other tasks as assigned or required for the purpose of the position or for organizational efficiency and effective client service Requirements High School diploma or GED Experience working with youth Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace) Patience, adaptability, and a passion for education Preferred Qualifications (Education & Experience) Experience in curriculum development Bachelor’s degree in education or related field Teaching or tutoring experience Classroom management skills Knowledge of educational technology tools Bilingual Spanish Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Competencies Knowledge of Indian Self‑Determination and Education Assistance Act (PL93‑638). Knowledge of Title V of the Indian Health Care Improvement Act (PL 94‑437) Strong understanding and sensitivity to American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) cultures and lifestyles and work effectively with AI/AN population Effective oral and written communication skills with sensitivity to lifestyles of targeted participants, while maintaining a high level of professionalism. Strong organizational skills Ability to work with diverse learners Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of client and personnel information, exercise discretion, and comply with all applicable federal and state privacy laws, as well as UAII policy (HIPAA, HITECH, etc.) Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with management, coworkers, and outside contacts. Ability to learn and apply program/agency operating policies and procedures. Ability to interact with various people on various, and at times, complex issues. Ability to work independently as well as with teams. Conditions of Hire Eligibility to work in the U.S. Fingerprint clearance and post‑offer drug test. Proof of hepatitis B vaccination and TB screening. UAII strongly encourages COVID‑19 and Influenza vaccinations; in the absence of the recommended vaccinations, employees are advised to wear a mask while in clinic areas.
