Role Description The Kitchen Manager at bar Ella is a full-time, on-site role based in San Diego, CA. This role oversees daily kitchen operations, ensuring that food preparation, cooking, and plating meet established quality and consistency standards. We provide a unique opportunity to highlight quality combined with creativity through weekly specials, seasonal menu changes and BOH x FOH collaborations. The Kitchen Manager leads and trains kitchen staff working alongside all staff on the line, manages inventory, ordering, scheduling and maintains a clean, safe, and compliant work environment. This role collaborates closely with front-of-house leadership to coordinate service, support menu execution, and respond to guest feedback. The Kitchen Manager also contributes to menu planning, cost control, and continuous improvement of kitchen processes. Qualifications Hands on leadership Strong skills in Food Preparation and Cooking, with the ability to execute and oversee consistent, high-quality dishes. Experience in Food & Beverage operations, including coordination with bar and service teams to support a seamless guest experience. Knowledge of Food Quality standards, including portion control, presentation, and safety practices. Background in Culinary Management, such as leading kitchen teams, scheduling, and managing inventory and food costs. Ability to maintain food safety and sanitation in compliance with local health regulations. Experience supervising and training kitchen staff in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments. Thorough line experience.
