Location 295 CHICO CA, Chico Mall, 1950 E 20TH ST, STE D-411, CHICO, CA 95928, USA Job Summary The Sales Teammate position’s primary responsibility is to fulfill our mission statement: “To create the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for our Guests.” Additional duties include cashiering, merchandise display, register procedures, and routine facility cleaning as assigned by Store Management. Pay Range $16.90 – $20 per hour. Final offers are based on skill set, experience, location, qualifications, and other job‑related factors. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Greet guests with a friendly, engaging attitude and provide legendary service. Answer questions about the store, merchandise, sales, promotions, payment, and exchange policies. Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on guest needs. Anticipate and fulfill guest needs by suggesting additional items and creating a wardrobe experience. Demonstrate product knowledge and consistently share it with teammates. Maintain and share current sales, promotions, and security practices. Achieve personal sales‑per‑hour, average sales, and total net sales goals set by Store Management. Provide legendary service in the front 5, sales floor, fitting rooms, and register area. Help guests try on or fit merchandise, check out, bag purchases, prepare merchandise for alterations, and handle exchanges and returns. Fill out and use the Sales Presentation Guide daily to accomplish goals. Meet or exceed performance standards for Buckle business builders and guest loyalty programs. Place special orders or call other stores to find desired merchandise. Maintain good guest relationships and develop a client‑based business. Maintain knowledge of Buckle’s customer service expectations. Perform leadership actions and maintain high standards when the manager is absent. Teammate Recruiting, Training and Development Identify recruiting opportunities via Jobs & Careers cards, email referrals, and Teammate Recommend. Create relationships through Guest Loyalty and Guest Preferred programs. Maintain a professional and respectful attitude to foster positive floor culture. Present merchandise to maximize sales and achieve optimal merchandise turnover. Stay current on product range and new product ideas. Work with teammates and guests to identify product improvements and feedback. Ensure the sales floor is consistently sized and new freight is appropriately displayed. Operations Work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, Thanksgiving, and Christmas days. Open and close cash registers, balance cash drawers, and manage deposits. Watch for security risks and handle theft prevention based on Loss Prevention guidelines. Understand and execute all policies regarding payments, exchanges, and Loss Prevention practices. Perform merchandising tasks such as freight handling, re‑merchandising, display preparation, price markdowns, and transfers. Maintain a clean, organized, and shoppable store. Provide feedback to Store Manager and Leadership Team regarding merchandise handling concerns. Communicate policy violations and concerns confidentially to Store Manager, District Manager, and/or Human Resources. Understand and apply Buckle’s Code of Ethics and all policies, procedures, and handbooks. Contribute to a positive team spirit while fulfilling the mission statement. Assume special projects and other duties as assigned. Physical Demands Regularly stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, reach, climb, balance, jump, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk or hear, lift and maneuver 30 lbs. Physical ability to lift and maneuver 30 lbs throughout the store and backroom is required. Vision abilities required include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment. Noise level is usually moderate.
