Come grow with us!The Quality Inspector will setup, operate and control a variety of auxiliary equipment related to the manufacture of ceramic fiber, as well as equipment and apparatus used directly in the manufacture of ceramic fiber products; to insure desired product quality; to maintain productivity standards and to ensure safe operation.This position reports directly to the Quality Engineer, but is also directed by the Shift Advisor.Responsibilities:Perform Quality TestingObtain samples from end of line at a pre-determined frequencyConduct testing in accordance with internal work instructions and proceduresQuality testing of all outgoing products including, but not limited to:Thickness and basis weightFiber diameterFiber indexFriabilityCrystallinityTensileCompression testingPerform additional testing as necessaryPerform re-testing of material as directed by the Quality Supervisor or EngineersProduction SupportProvide periodic support for relief of End of Line operatorsAssist in the rebuilding and refurbishment of needle boardsAuditing of production line and product qualityOther DutiesMaintain clean and safe equipment and an orderly work areaDaily shift turnover reportingRegular communication with production regarding test results and sorting needsEnsure proper entry of all test results into electronic systemsPerform other related duties as neededRequirements:High school Diploma required, Associate degree or other post high school training preferred, or industrial experience.Working knowledge of Microsoft office, the ability to learn and access information through computer databases, and the ability to read simple gages and follow work instructions.The individual must also be able to work a 12-hour continuous shift schedule (4 days on, 4 days off from 7-7 rotating days/nights).Lifting requirements up to 50 lbs., be able to handle repetitive stair and ladder climbing, and work successfully in team environment.Tools and equipment used: Fork truck, computer, wet scrubber, furnaces, small hand tools, carton sealer, stapler, carton erector, tape gun, stretch wrapper, power washer, etc.Facilities Used: Electricity, water, compressed air, steam, LP gas, etc.Materials Used: Ceramic Fiber mixes, cutters, bags, stretch wrap, hand tools.Compensation:$24.41/hourPay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
