Medical Receptionist

Join University Home Care Inc as a Medical Receptionist specializing in prior authorization and eligibility verification. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for patients managing administrative tasks to ensure smooth day-to-day operations at our Livonia, MI location. Your expertise in handling prior authorizations and eligibility checks will support both clinical staff and patients, helping to facilitate timely and efficient care delivery. You will also be scheduling staff and following up with orders.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
• Manage incoming calls, schedule appointments, and maintain patient records with high accuracy.
• Verify patient insurance eligibility and obtain prior authorizations as required.
• Coordinate with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and clinical staff to ensure proper documentation and authorization.
• Handle administrative tasks including data entry, paperwork, and filing in compliance with confidentiality policies.
• Support billing and coding teams by providing accurate patient and insurance information.

Requirements

• Prior experience as a medical receptionist or similar administrative role.
• Knowledge of prior authorization processes and insurance eligibility verification.
• Proficient with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
