Training and Experience Any combination of training and experience that provides the below listed knowledge, skills and abilities may be qualifying. A typical way of qualifying would be:

• Equivalent to graduation from high school and one (1) year of employment which has included regular contact with the public.
• Typing speed 35 wpm
• Emergency Medical Dispatcher (EMD) Certification is desirable and must be obtained within one year.

Other Requirements Must be able to pass a background investigation Must be willing to work evening, night, weekend, and holiday shifts on a rotation basis Must be willing to be called back or held over to maintain minimum staffing levels Must obtain Post Basic Dispatcher and Department of Justice CLETS/CJIS operator certifications prior to completion of probation as a Public Safety Dispatcher I Upon conditional offer of employment, selected candidate(s) will be required to pass a physical and psychological evaluation.

Step 3: Oral Panel Interview Step 4: Background Investigation & Polygraph Step 5: Psychological & Medical Evaluations Candidates successfully completing all components of the selection process will be placed on an employment eligibility list from which hires may be made. The eligible list is valid for six months.
