Outside Sales
The HVAC Outside Sales Representative represents the company to contractor and trade customers. The focus of this position is to develop and grow relationships with HVAC contractors, mechanical contractors, and builders in order to maintain and increase product sales. Reports to: Profit Center Manager
Minimum Qualifications:
- Extensive, demonstrable knowledge of HVAC products and their applications
- Ability to travel and make sales calls at contractor offices and jobsites
- Ability to comprehend, read, and communicate in English both orally and in writing
- Valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company standards
- Math skills including calculating percentages, decimals, and discount multipliers
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior HVAC distribution, wholesale, supply house, or install experience
- Established relationships with local HVAC contractors
- Experience quoting or reading mechanical plans/specs
Working Conditions: Conditions vary based on customer location and may include contractor offices, jobsites, warehouse, or outdoor environments. Essential functions require travel to contractor and jobsite locations.
Supervisory Responsibilities: No
Essential Job Functions:
- Develop and grow relationships with contractor accounts to maintain and increase sales
- Identify and pursue new contractor accounts within assigned territory
- Quote pricing, prepare proposals, and process orders for contractor customers
- Coordinate with inside sales/counter and warehouse for order fulfillment and delivery
- Follow up with contractors on open quotes, orders, and job status
- Meet or exceed individual and territory sales targets
