Plant Engineering Manager

Plant Engineering and Maintenance ManagerBased in Columbus, OH, we are a growing food manufacturing company launching a new state-of-the-art baking facility serving premium consumer food brands nationwide.We're seeking a Plant Engineering and Maintenance Manager to play a critical leadership role in the startup, commissioning, and long-term operation of a greenfield manufacturing facility. This position will lead maintenance, reliability, utilities, and capital improvement efforts while partnering closely with operations, quality, safety, and executive leadership to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient production.Role and Responsibilities:Lead the development and execution of the plant maintenance and reliability strategy during startup and ongoing operationsBuild, develop, and lead the maintenance organization, including hiring, training, and coaching maintenance technicians and technical personnelEstablish preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, asset management, and equipment reliability programsSupport facility startup activities including equipment installation, commissioning, validation, and operational readinessLead capital projects involving production equipment, utilities, facility infrastructure, and manufacturing improvementsManage facility utilities including compressed air, HVAC, boiler systems, water systems, electrical distribution, and related manufacturing infrastructurePartner with Operations, Quality, Safety, and Maintenance teams to improve equipment reliability, OEE, throughput, and product qualityManage contractor relationships, equipment vendors, OEM support, spare parts programs, and technical service providersSupport food safety, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence initiatives including GMP, HACCP, SQF, and BRC requirementsManage maintenance budgets, capital spending, resource planning, and project execution activitiesDevelop a proactive maintenance culture focused on reliability, continuous improvement, safety, and long-term asset performanceQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field preferred, or equivalent maintenance, reliability, or manufacturing leadership experience7+ years of maintenance, reliability, engineering, utilities, or manufacturing leadership experienceExperience leading maintenance teams within food manufacturing, beverage manufacturing, bakery, consumer products, or similar industrial environmentsExperience supporting facility startups, commissioning activities, expansions, or major capital projectsStrong knowledge of preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, reliability engineering, CMMS systems, and asset management practicesExperience managing utilities, facility infrastructure, production equipment, contractors, and technical vendorsWorking knowledge of food safety systems including GMP, HACCP, SQF, or BRCStrong leadership, problem-solving, communication, and project management skillsBenefitsBase Salary Between $140-170kGenerous PTO/Vacation Package401(k) w/MatchMedical, Dental, Vision - STD/LTD, Life Insurance etc.Domestic Travel up to 25%, International as needed
