Banquet Manager

Mintahoe Catering & Events, a leading Twin Cities catering and event partner, is seeking an experienced Banquet Manager to oversee event execution at the Heritage Center of Brooklyn Center and, when needed, at other Mintahoe-serviced venues.

The Heritage Center is a premier historic venue featuring seven event spaces, outdoor courtyards, and capacities ranging from 30 to more than 1,000 guests. The venue hosts corporate, government, nonprofit, social, and wedding events.

The Banquet Manager is responsible for ensuring exceptional client satisfaction and the smooth execution of events. This role coordinates event details between Mintahoe's internal team and Heritage Center management, working closely with the Director of Operations, Culinary Team, Scheduling, Event Captains, and the venue's sales and facilities staff.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as the primary Mintahoe liaison with Heritage Center's sales and management teams.
Review event contracts, confirm details, and partner with clients and venue staff to finalize event plans.
Coordinate event execution with culinary, operations, and scheduling teams.
Lead and support Event Captains, including conducting pre-event briefings and confirming staff preparedness.
Greet clients on-site, confirm event details, and oversee seamless execution through food service.
Maintain Mintahoe standards for staff professionalism, training, and performance.
Communicate event changes promptly to all relevant internal departments.
Complete detailed post-event reports to support management review and continuous improvement.
Provide the same level of oversight when assigned to other Mintahoe venues.

Qualifications

3+ years of event, banquet, or hospitality leadership experience.
Strong leadership, coaching, and staff training skills.
Excellent communication and client service abilities.
Highly detail-oriented, observant, and solutions-focused under pressure.
Professional demeanor with reliable follow-through.
Proficiency with basic computer tools for event communication and documentation.
Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends.

Compensation & Benefits

Full-time, hourly position starting at $27/hour.
