Event Manager

FLSA Status: Exempt Reports to: Vice President, Member Development and Engagement JOB PURPOSE: The Event Manager will work as a part of the events team in the development and implementation of the seminars, conferences and annual events of the Chamber and its affiliates. This position is responsible for the entire coordination of assigned events and is the event lead for Session Priorities, the Chambers largest and most signature event. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: Event coordination responsibilities include: Work across departments to develop and implement program agendas. Secure properties and contracts. Confirm speakers and compile materials. Draft scripts and PowerPoints for the communications teams edits and approval. Oversee event design, production and technology. Create and manage event budgets to reach revenue and expense goals. Serve as onsite manager the day of the event to oversee set-up, staff assignments, speaker and agenda coordination. Abide by the Chambers core values of member commitment, professionalism and problem solving and makes consistent best effort to help further the mission of the Chamber. Other duties and projects as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of three to five years of experience in event planning/management strongly preferred. Proficient with computer technology including Zoom and Microsoft Office Suite specifically PowerPoint and Teams. Must have ability to learn the Chambers database software. Must have willingness to learn and adapt to new event technology. Ability to organize, prioritize and work independently. Ability to manage multiple events and timelines. Good writing and communication skills. Strong customer service and relationship skills. Must exhibit a friendly, positive attitude and be a team player. PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS: Ability to use the keyboard, computer, and/or mouse for up to 8 hours per day. Ability to work at least 40 hours per week, including some evenings; weekends are rare. Ability to use the phone and/or virtual meeting platform for approximately 1-3 hours per day. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Ability to manage the logistics of in-person events, which includes extended periods of standing, walking, bending and/or lifting. ANNUAL SALARY: The estimated base pay range for this job is: $59,000-$63,000 Pay may vary depending on job-related factors and individual experience, skills, etc. and follows the Chambers compensation policy.
