Reports To: Building Principal

Education and Experience: Minimum requirement of 60 college hours or passed the Paraprofessional Assessment or completed Missouri's online substitute training program. K-12 experience is preferred. Strong technology skills required. Knowledge of the use of the Internet for research purposes, preferred. Knowledge and experience with Google Suite and other computer applications, preferred. Experience with and/or knowledge and understanding of best practices in instruction, preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

• Maintains confidentiality of information gained through the performance and location of the position
• Plans, prepares, and develops various teaching aids
• Creates learning materials geared to student's ability and interest
• Presents subject matter to students, utilizing variety of methods and techniques
• May prepare, administer, and grade examinations as directed by the teacher
• Assists students, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments to present or reinforce learning concepts
• Works closely with teacher(s) for the success of the students
• Maintains discipline
• May confer with parents on progress of students as directed by the supervisor
• Supervises students during class and learning activities, as assigned
• Supervision of students during lunch and/or recess, as assigned
• Takes all reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
• Complies with policy, procedures, regulations, and law
• Assists students, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments to present or reinforce learning concepts
• Other duties and tasks as assigned
