Join our Pack as a Banquet Bartender. Essential job duties include: Able to work all types of events anywhere on campus, Able to work by themselves, Proper set up and break down of bars. Setup events, work the event, and clean up after the event, including removing all catering items from the event space(s), washing any dirty catering items and returning all cleaned and restocked items to the appropriate places within the catering stock rooms. Communicating with clients and guests as needed, Catering support during down time, Making sure the kitchen is clean before they leave when in Talley (taking out trash, sinks and counters are clean, floors are swept and mopped, dishwasher is drained and turned off). Able to check for identification ensuring no minors are being served. Other duties as assigned to ensure NC State Dining business needs are met. Position may be asked to assist in other locations as necessary.

This is an hourly position, that includes a State required 32-day break at the end of 11 months. Excellent performance during this time may provide an opportunity to renew employment and/or advance.

Requirements and Preferences: All shifts are available including weekends. Please list your availability in the appropriate section of the application. Work as a cohesive team member and play an integral part in creating a positive work environment. Minimum Experience/Education: High School Diploma or equivalency. Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work will also be considered. At least six months of bartending experience of providing full bar service including set-up, breakdown, mixed drinks, etc.

Department Required Skills: Must be at least 21 years of age. General knowledge of beer and wine, including the proper handling of beer and wine. Proper operation and service of keg beer. Work for extended periods of time without sitting. Position requires standing for long periods of time, walking, bending, twisting, pulling and pushing. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with customers, supervisors, and peers. Ability to follow written and/or verbal instructions. Provide outstanding customer service, including the ability to remain professional and respectful under pressure when dealing with difficult situations. Excellence in completing all tasks. Ability to adapt to the changing customer volume level with a sense of urgency. Ability to work well as part of a team and independently as necessary. Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation.

Recruitment Details: Anticipated Hiring Range - $14 per hour. Job Open Date - 07/14/2025.
