Custodian

Overview Our client, an educational institution dedicated to fostering a safe and clean learning environment, is seeking a Custodian to join their team. As a Custodian, you will be part of the Facilities Support team supporting the school's daily operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate reliability, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude, which will align successfully in the organization. Job Title: Custodian Location: Baton Rouge, LA Pay Rate: $11.00/hour Position Type: 5-Month Contract with likely conversion to permanent Shift: Monday - Friday; 5pm - 10pm (Extra hours available upon request) Responsibilities Clean and sanitize classrooms, restrooms, gyms, offices, and common areas Sweep, mop, vacuum, and wax floors to maintain cleanliness and safety Empty trash and recycling containers regularly Disinfect high-touch surfaces such as desks, doorknobs, and railings Refill supplies including soap, paper towels, and toilet paper, and set up or break down rooms for school events or activities Qualifications Prior janitorial or custodial experience preferred but not required Knowledge of cleaning methods, supplies, and safety procedures Ability to work independently or as part of a team Ability to lift, bend, stand, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift Good communication skills and attention to detail What’s in it for me?
