The Horseshoe Café is looking for a part-time Line cook to join our team
We are a locally owned business where everyone works as a team and treats each other with respect. We are looking for someone who is friendly, reliable and able to communicate well with others. Everyone picks up slack where needed, so you must be willing to accept other kitchen duties as necessary and not be afraid of dishes.
We require:
- Valid Washington State food handlers card
- Must be able to work weekends and some holidays
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time and bend over to get to tricky places to clean.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs
- Must have a clear sense of urgency, be able to stay busy when slow, and do the full job expected in the amount of time expected.
Job Overview:
- Line cooks do short order cooking while taking care of their line prep, cleaning projects, and dishes. Depending on the shift, line cooks may need to help prep cooks with putting away orders.
** We cross train almost all cooks on line cooking and prep cooking, while this position is currently a Line-Cook position there will be a time when cross training will happen and prep shifts will be scheduled.
Compensation: The job starts out at $20 an hour with $2-4 extra an hour with cash tips = $22 minimum an hour going up to $24 depending on tips.
Part-time Position: While the position is part-time, we have regular opportunities for more hours through covering shifts and working holidays.
Benefits:
- After 90 days probational period you will get a performance assessment which may result in a raise depending on a performance.
- All positions include a floating paid day off & $100 wellness bonus[Effective AFTER 90 day probational period]
- Effective upon hiring employees are given free shift meals & discounts when you are not working
- Full time employees also receive vacation time
