About the Position

Gastroenterology Physician - Locum Opportunity

Description

We are seeking a Board-Certified Gastroenterologist providing both inpatient and outpatient GI coverage. This opportunity offers a mix of clinic responsibilities, hospital rounding, consultations, and GI procedures. The provider will work alongside another Gastroenterologist within the practice while helping address a coverage gap.

The assignment is available to start as soon as credentialed , with one position available.

About the Facility

• Acute Care Hospital
• Adult patient population (18+)
• 251-bed facility
• Adult Trauma Level II/III/IV designation
• Both hospital and clinic privileges required
• Inpatient and outpatient practice setting
• Provider will work alongside another Gastroenterologist as part of the practice
• Current assignment approval through January 14, 2027
• Opening due to coverage needs
• Epic EMR system (proficient user required)

Compensation:

Malpractice Covered

Job Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient and outpatient Gastroenterology services
• Perform hospital rounding and admissions
• Conduct GI consultations
• Perform inpatient and outpatient GI procedures
• Provide clinic coverage
• Participate in required 24-hour call coverage
• Manage weekend, evening, and overnight call responsibilities as scheduled
• Collaborate with GI colleagues and support staff
• Document care using Epic EMR

Qualifications

• MD or DO
• Board Certified in Gastroenterology
• Active Washington medical license required at start (IMLC accepted)
• Candidates pending Washington licensure may be considered
• Minimum of 2 years of Gastroenterology experience
• Epic EMR proficiency required
• COVID-19 vaccination required (no exemptions)
• Must meet Medical Staff Office credentialing requirements

Working Hours

• Start: As soon as credentialed
• Day shift: 8 hours, typically 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
• Standard schedule: 5 days/week
• Call required:
  • 24-hour call coverage
  • Weekends, evenings, and nights when on call
  • Call includes consulting, rounding, and inpatient/outpatient GI procedures
