About the Position

Description

We are seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Cardiac Electrophysiologist to provide locum coverage in Bellingham, Washington . This unique opportunity combines Electrophysiology (0.5 FTE) with General Cardiology (0.25 FTE) , offering a mix of hospital and clinic responsibilities. The assignment is expected to last 9 months with an ASAP start upon credentialing .

Job Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive Electrophysiology (EP) and General Cardiology coverage.
• Perform the full spectrum of electrophysiology procedures, including:
  • Pacemaker implantation
  • ICD implantation and management
  • Cardiac ablations
  • Device evaluations and follow-up
• Perform General Cardiology procedures, including:
  • Transesophageal Echocardiograms (TEE)
  • Cardioversions
• Conduct inpatient rounding, admissions, and consultations.
• Manage approximately 8–10 adult General Cardiology patients per day .
• Collaborate with Advanced Practice Clinicians (APCs) and multidisciplinary teams.
• Document patient encounters using Epic EMR .
• Participate in weekday and weekend call coverage as scheduled.

Working Hours

• Assignment Duration: Approximately 9 Months
• Start Date: ASAP (Upon Credentialing)
• General Cardiology: One week per month
• Shift: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM (10-hour shifts)
• Call Requirements:
  • Approximately 2 weeknight calls during the coverage week
  • Potential 24-hour weekend call as needed
• Hospital and clinic coverage for EP; hospital coverage only for General Cardiology.

Requirements

• MD or DO degree.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiovascular Disease/Electrophysiology.
• Experience performing the full spectrum of Electrophysiology procedures , including pacemakers and ablations.
• Must provide documentation of 100 Electrophysiology cases performed within the past 24 months .
• Must provide recent cardiovascular clinical case logs.
• Active Washington Medical License preferred (IMLC accepted; licensing assistance may be available).
• ACLS and BLS certifications required.
