About the Position

Description

We are seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible General Cardiologist to provide locum inpatient coverage in Bellingham, Washington . This is a hospital-based opportunity offering one week of coverage per month with an anticipated 9-month assignment . The provider will focus on inpatient rounding, admissions, consultations, and performing general cardiology procedures while collaborating with an experienced cardiovascular team.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive inpatient General Cardiology coverage.
• Conduct daily patient rounds, admissions, and consultations.
• Manage approximately 8–10 adult patients per day .
• Perform Transesophageal Echocardiograms (TEE) .
• Perform Cardioversions as clinically indicated.
• Collaborate with Advanced Practice Clinicians (APCs) and specialty consultants.
• Document patient care using Epic EMR .
• Participate in weekday and weekend call coverage as scheduled.

Working Hours

• Assignment Duration: Approximately 9 Months
• Start Date: ASAP (Upon Credentialing)
• Coverage: One week per month
• Shift: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM (10-hour day shifts)
• Call Requirements:
  • Approximately 2 weeknight calls during the coverage week
  • Potential 24-hour weekend call as needed
• Hospital-based coverage only.

Requirements

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiovascular Disease.
• Experience with inpatient General Cardiology.
• Proficiency in performing TEE and Cardioversions .
• Must provide documentation of recent cardiovascular clinical activity within the past 24 months.
• Active Washington Medical License preferred (IMLC accepted; licensing assistance may be available).
• ACLS and BLS certifications required.
