Behavioral Health Para-ProfessionalResidential Tech (BHPP) Lines of Authority This position is supervised bythe Program Manager/Charge Nurse or designee. This position may requireperiodic participation in peer review activities. Position Summary Provide activities as assigned based on specific site and populationserved (Hospital/Crisis Stabilization Unit/Group Home) assisting with dailyliving skills and care working towards independence. The BHPP is expected to cooperate as a team member in the provision of a therapeutic environment thatencourages each client's emotional growth.The BHPP is required to actively participate with the client in apositive manner. This position will be expected to maintain an acceptable levelproductivity as measured by billable hours. Implements policy on infectioncontrol, kitchen usage and housekeeping.Advocates for clients, obtain entitlements, and coordinatetransportation between ChangePoint and other service providers. Report any unusual behavior or medical issuesto the supervisor and or nurse. Duties and Responsibilities Adheres to personnel policies and comply withagency requirements for ethical and professional behavior. Protects client's confidentiality andpersonal rights. Keeps clear, concise and accurate records ofclinical activity according to Policy and Procedures. Participate in staff meetings. Coordinateactivities with other program staff. Provides assertive outreach to clients whoresist involvement or have difficulty accessing services. Establishes and maintains a workingrelationship with personnel and referral resources. Coordinates andaccompanies Clients to Telemedicine doctor visits and completes record keepingrequirements for visits. Provide services and activities for clientsin accordance with program requirements and individual treatment plans. Suchservices and activities may include: Serve asprimary care coordinator for assigned clients; provide educational andliving skills discussions and activities, (e.g., laundry, cooking, cleaning,shopping, personal hygiene, Etc.) based on site/population; Attendstaffing and medical appointments, Foster thedevelopment of independent living skills Monitorclient behavior, foster and model socially acceptable behavior patterns; Providerecreation and socialization; Providetransportation to appointments and approved activities; Assist grouphome clients with self-administration of medications; Assistclients and visitors as needed Assist withactivity and recreational therapy groups Must meet state standards for continuededucation. This position requires positive and activesupport of the company, the client and the co-worker. Promotes qualityand safety to help maintain a safe and pleasant work environment, followssafety regulations, and actively contributes towards a safe workplace. Promotes Infection Control following IC Plan,completing reports and checks. Must participate in quality management andquality improvement activities. Supervise patient's/clients daily activitiesand provide ADL's. Obtain patient/client pulse, temperature, andrespiration rates as directed. Meals will be served meeting nutritionalguidelines and any special diets or Medical Officer orders. At the hospital staff will transport mealsfrom contractor. Kitchen and warming areas will be cleaned andorderly following IC standards as directed by Manager, Charge Nurse, orDesignee. Documentation ? Any unusual complaints,incidents, unusual behaviors, or significant changes. These event should also be reported to thesupervisor. All progress and improvementswill also be documented. Complete all required competency tests,complete and maintain all trainings in Relias. Be trained in providing de-escalation,seclusion, and restraints. At thehospital will assist in restraints. Hospital staff will obtain knowledge anddemonstrate competency of waived laboratory equipment. Keep service areas and equipment clean suchas linen room, utility room or shed, closets, and pantries. Perform other duties as assigned by theProgram Manager or designee. Night shift, monitor security of the propertythrough hourly ground checks. Primary Contacts Dailyinteraction with clients and their support system, usually their family. Interface asneeded with peers and other clinical team members. Collaboration,as appropriate, with other community resources/referral agencies, with theclient's s consent. Position Requisites Qualifications and Experience Required: AssociatesDegree in any field; or High School Diploma; or General Education EquivalencyCertificate. Current ArizonaDriver's License unless an exemption is granted by the HR Manager or CEO (ifexemption is granted the employee must sign a no-drive agreement which will beplaced in personnel file). Please note: some positions are not eligible for anexemption. Must be at least21 years of age. Comply with aDrug Free workplace. Knowledge andability to define the needs of the client served. ESRcertification CPR & FirstAid certification For Those Working With SMI:

1. Knowledge of symptoms related to qualifying diagnosis.
2. Ability to identify and communicate signs of regression anddeterioration.
3. Knowledge of interventions to fosterself-care and ADL skill development.

For Those Working With DD:

1. Knowledge of symptoms related to qualifyingdiagnosis.
2. Ability to identify and communicate signs ofregression and deterioration.
3. Knowledge of Client Intervention Techniquesrelative to self-care and ADL skill development.

For Those Working With Substance Abuse:

1. Able to identify signs and symptoms of SubstanceAbuse and Chemical Dependency.
2. Knowledge of rangeof treatment for dependence including relapse, prevention, strategies and self-helpgroups.

Preferred: One yearBehavioral Health experience. CPR and FirstAid certification. Knowledge ofentitlement process and local resources. Skills/Abilities Required: Fluent inEnglish, both verbally and in writing. Literate. Able toeffectively employ critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Able toprioritize, handle multiple tasks with client. Ability toaccurately complete difficult paperwork in a timely manner, producingprofessional documents, charting in client charts, and record keeping using TJC,HCIC and ADHS standards. Able to work incrisis oriented work environment. Knowledge ofside effects of medications. Preferred: Experience andtraining in crisis intervention. Familiar withpsychotropic drugs and their side effects. Working Conditions PhysicalRequirements

• Ability to occasionally assist in behaviormanagement techniques, to physically restrain, seclude and apply restraints toaggressive customers in the Hospital and Crisis Stabilization Unit.
• Negative TB skin test.

• Able to work with customers who abuse substances.
