Job Description
Neonatal Transition Nurse - 3x12 Hour Shift

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Day shift with 3x12 hour shifts from 07:00 to 19:00. Weekend requirements include every other weekend (Saturday/Sunday) plus two Fridays every six weeks.

Job Description

The Neonatal Transition Nurse will provide care for newborns immediately following birth. Responsibilities include routine baby care, vital monitoring, growth assessments, skin-to-skin support, breastfeeding assistance, and conducting routine labs. The nurse may also float to like units, supporting transitional care as needed.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring vital signs and conducting head-to-toe assessments.
• Providing breastfeeding support and education to families.
• Performing routine lab work and documenting in EPIC.
• Caring for neonates and offering transitional care in high delivery volume scenarios.
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams for comprehensive care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with a focus on neonatal care.
• Current BCLS and NRP certifications are required.
• CA RN license must be valid and active prior to submission.
• Experience with EPIC charting preferred.
