Fund Accounting Lead Consultant

Role Description

Alternative Path is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Fund Accounting Lead Consultant to assist one of its clients. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with our client’s internal and partner teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Reconcile trial balances, general ledger, and partner allocation accounts
• Review waterfall calculations and ensure accuracy
• Perform bank account statement reconciliation and resolve discrepancies
• Review financial statements and workpapers produced by third-party administrator
• Verify partner account statements and resolve any discrepancies
• Work collaboratively with various teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting
• Assist with year-end audit and tax preparation
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and vendors
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures

Qualifications

• Graduate/Postgraduate with good knowledge of accounting and finance
• Minimum of 8 - 10 years of relevant experience in Private Equity fund accounting
• Strong understanding of accounting principles
• Experience working on fund accounting platforms
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with experience in financial reporting systems
• Experience building and working with large data files and some experience of building macros in MS Excel
• Detail oriented with fast and exact data collection and validation skills
• Strong analytical, problem solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills
• Ability to multitask and deliver under tight deadlines
• Self-starter that thrives on complexity and solution finding
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in verbal and written English
• Demonstrated ability to write effectively and summarize large amounts of information succinctly and quickly
• Desire to work in an international team environment, often under pressure and with multiple stakeholders
• Must operate with the highest level of integrity
