Plant Manager

About The Role The Plant Manager will lead the day-to-day operations of a high-volume, fast-paced trade printing facility, with responsibility for production performance, safety, quality, cost management, and people leadership. This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role overseeing the full plant operation, including prepress, pressroom, digital, finishing, shipping/receiving, and maintenance. You will lead supervisors, department leaders, and hourly teams while partnering closely with Operations, Customer Service, Quality, Finance, HR, EHS, and Materials to ensure the facility consistently delivers against customer expectations and business goals. We’re looking for an experienced print manufacturing leader who understands the pace and complexity of high-volume production and knows how to balance throughput, quality, labor, cost, and safety. The right leader will be equally comfortable on the production floor solving real-time operational challenges and working with senior leadership on plant performance, financial results, and long-term improvement opportunities. What You'll Do Lead all day-to-day plant operations across prepress, pressroom, digital, finishing, shipping/receiving, maintenance, and supporting functions Lead and develop supervisors, department heads, team leads, and hourly employees across the facility Establish clear performance expectations and create accountability through consistent communication, operating rhythms, and KPI tracking Monitor plant performance across productivity, throughput, labor, quality, safety, waste, cost, and on-time delivery Ensure production teams consistently meet customer specifications, quality standards, and turnaround expectations Own operating and capital budgets with a strong focus on cost control, productivity, and overall plant performance Lead cost-reduction, efficiency, and profit-improvement initiatives across the facility Drive continuous improvement across production scheduling, workflow, capacity, quality, safety, and labor utilization Develop and standardize plant procedures, operating practices, and performance expectations across departments and shifts Partner cross-functionally with Customer Service, Quality, Finance, HR, EHS, Materials, and other business teams to resolve issues and improve execution Lead operational response and escalation for high-profile, time-sensitive, or at-risk customer orders Champion a proactive safety culture through training, audits, incident investigations, corrective actions, and consistent accountability Maintain strong quality standards throughout the production process and drive root‑cause resolution when performance falls below expectations Build organizational capability through coaching, performance management, cross‑training, succession planning, and employee development Serve as a technical and operational resource for internal teams and customers on complex print and production matters What Success Looks Like Consistently achieving plant targets across safety, quality, productivity, cost, throughput, and on-time delivery Creating a strong culture of ownership, accountability, communication, and continuous improvement across the facility Reducing waste, downtime, rework, and other operational costs through disciplined process improvement Building strong supervisors and department leaders who can effectively lead their teams and drive performance Using plant KPIs and operational data to identify issues early and make informed decisions Improving workflow and coordination across prepress, pressroom, digital, finishing, shipping, and supporting departments Successfully managing operating and capital budgets while identifying opportunities to improve plant profitability Building scalable processes and a flexible, cross‑trained workforce that can respond effectively to changing production demand Who You Are 10+ years of progressive operations leadership experience within a high-volume print manufacturing environment Deep knowledge of commercial and trade printing operations, including offset, digital, and large‑format printing Strong understanding of prepress workflows, color management, binding, finishing, production scheduling, and shipping/fulfillment 5+ years of direct P&L, operating budget, and/or plant financial management responsibility Proven experience leading supervisors, department leaders, and hourly production teams in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment Strong background in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies Experience with capacity planning, labor management, production scheduling, workflow optimization, and cost reduction Strong understanding of plant KPIs, operations finance, quality systems, and performance management Working knowledge of OSHA requirements, workplace safety practices, incident management, and environmental compliance Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills with the ability to respond quickly to changing production priorities Effective communicator who can build accountability and alignment from the production floor through senior leadership Comfortable operating as both a strategic leader and a hands‑on presence within the plant Bachelor's degree in Business, Manufacturing, Operations, or a related field preferred Equal Opportunity Statement 4over is an Equal Opportunity and Aff... #J-18808-Ljbffr 4over
