Job Details: Location: Cranston, RI 02920; Position Type: Full Time; Salary Range: $30.00 - $34.00 Hourly; Shift: Day; Role: School Nurse. In this role, you’ll provide essential medical care and oversight for students ages 3–22 with complex needs, including Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and significant medical or sensory challenges. You’ll play a critical part in ensuring students are healthy, supported, and ready to learn each day. Working closely with educators, therapists, families, and healthcare providers, you’ll help create a safe and responsive environment where students can thrive. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Demonstrate proper assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of client care through the utilization of the nursing process. Continuously evaluate the client’s condition accurately and take suitable actions in response. Administer medications and treatments by all laws, regulations, and rules of the state of Rhode Island and federal regulatory agencies. Keep documentation current and accurate for the individual’s medical history and current health status, including medical status notes, yearly nursing summaries, medical evaluations, and other relevant documentation. Record daily tasks to ensure correct billing to appropriate programs according to licensing standards. Review and process consumer injury and medication error reports. Oversee medical quality assurance regarding the care of individuals supported by the agency. Order medical equipment on an as‑needed basis. Conduct in‑home, office, and telehealth visits. Transcribe and implement physicians’ orders promptly. Administer emergency first aid immediately and accurately when needed. Train individuals and staff as necessary, providing appropriate health and wellness information. Oversee and administer medication‑passing training to certify Direct Support staff. Demonstrate ability and appropriate technical skills when administering treatments and procedures by physicians’ orders and agency policies and procedures. Provide direct patient care when necessary, including emergency first aid. Respect the confidentiality and privacy of the individuals supported by the agency, communicate courteously and professionally to individuals supported, family and guardians, and colleagues, and work as an effective member of a team environment. Perform all other relevant tasks as assigned. Qualifications Graduate from an accredited school for Registered Nurses. Two years of experience with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred. Current Rhode Island Department of Health license for a Registered Nurse. Developmental Disabilities Certification is preferred. Active CPR certification. Current Rhode Island driving license with a good driving record. #J-18808-Ljbffr
