This role involves delivering high-quality, evidence-based direct patient care within a specialized cardiac ICU environment, supporting complex cardiovascular surgical patients and advanced heart failure cases. Job Details: Position Description: Deliver high-quality direct patient care as a Registered Nurse (RN), ensuring safe, evidence-based interventions aligned with organizational policies and clinical standards. Implement and monitor individualized patient care plans, evaluating outcomes and adjusting treatment to optimize patient safety and recovery. Administer physician and nursing orders promptly, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and advancing quality improvement initiatives. Lead discharge planning efforts, collaborating with patients and the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe transitions and effective post-acute care planning. Unit Description: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) with 28 beds. The unit scope includes 80% Cardiac Surgery and 20% Advanced Heart Failure patient populationhigh risk cardiac surgery cases including Open Heart Recovery, Heart Transplants, Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD) Implants, Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO), Impella, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), Swan Ganz Catheters, and Central Cardiac Output (CCO) Monitoring. Required Qualifications: Certification(s) in nursing, current license in good standing, valid Driver's License/State ID, professional profile completion, and two professional references. Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Additional Information: Preferred experience includes cardiac advanced device therapy management, such as IABP, Impella, and Swan-Ganz management. The role may require float to other units including Medical, Surgical, or Cardiac Stepdown units, as needed.
