Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPosition SummaryThe Room Attendant makes sure every guest room meets brand standards for cleanliness and orderliness, and represents the hotel with a friendly, helpful attitude toward guests and teammates.Essential DutiesClean and prepare assigned guest rooms to hotel standards, averaging a standard assignment of about 14 rooms per shift (check out and stay overs)Clean the bathtub, toilet, sink, walls, mirrors, tile, counters and floors using cloths, mops, sponges, brushes and cleaning agentsStrip and make beds and change linens, which may involve lifting bedspreads weighing up to 40 poundsDust all furniture, pictures, drawers, window ledges and shelves thoroughly, and vacuum carpetsReplenish amenities, linens and supplies in the guest roomStock, maintain and transport the housekeeping cart daily, and dispose of trash and recyclables in designated areasRespond promptly and courteously to guest requests, such as an iron, directions or other informationReport suspicious persons or activity, hazardous conditions and maintenance issues to Safety and Security or a supervisor, and give basic guidance to guests and employees in fire or other emergenciesTurn in all items found in your work area to the hotel Lost and FoundUpdate room status on the assignment sheet and keep assigned room keys secureAssist other Room Attendants or the Houseperson when requested, and perform other duties as assignedQualificationsNo formal education requiredAt least 6 months of housekeeping experience preferred, hotel or residentialAbility to follow instructions and directions, meet deadlines, and work with limited supervisionAbility to scrub and scour surfaces, extend arms overhead and work in confined spacesEnglish sufficient to understand safety labels, instructions and basic guest requests, and to communicate with guests and teammatesAttention to detail, good time management and a team attitudeReliable attendancePhysical DemandsMust be able to stand and walk for an 8 hour shift, and to frequently bend, stoop, walk, and lift, push or pull up to 50 pounds. Must be able to push or pull equipment weighing up to 100 pounds.Working ConditionsBecause hotels operate every day, work schedules include holidays, weekends and alternate shifts, with occasional overtime.Pay and BenefitsPay: $18 per hour.
