Location: Hilton Garden Inn & Homewood Suites Downtown/Bayside
Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time

Position Summary

The Rooms Houseperson plays a vital role in supporting the Housekeeping Department by ensuring guest room attendants have the supplies and assistance needed to efficiently clean guestrooms while maintaining clean, organized, and guest-ready public and back-of-house areas. This position helps deliver an exceptional guest experience by maintaining the hotel's cleanliness, safety, and operational standards.

Essential Responsibilities

• Deliver clean linens, towels, and guest room amenities to room attendants throughout the shift.
• Collect and transport soiled linens, trash, and recycling from guest room floors to designated areas.
• Stock housekeeping closets with linens, amenities, and cleaning supplies.
• Maintain cleanliness of housekeeping storage rooms, linen rooms, and service corridors.
• Vacuum and clean guest room hallways, elevators, stairwells, and other assigned public areas.
• Respond promptly to housekeeping requests, including guest deliveries, extra amenities, cribs, rollaway beds, and other service requests.
• Assist room attendants with moving furniture, stripping rooms, deep cleaning, and special projects.
• Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, and lost and found items according to hotel procedures.
• Ensure housekeeping carts and equipment are clean, organized, and properly maintained.
• Follow all safety, sanitation, and brand standards while using cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Support laundry operations and other housekeeping functions as needed.
• Maintain a positive, professional attitude while interacting with guests and fellow team members.
• Perform other duties as assigned by housekeeping leadership.

Qualifications

• Previous housekeeping, hotel, or custodial experience preferred but not required.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Dependable with a strong work ethic.
• Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Frequently lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Regular bending, kneeling, reaching, climbing stairs, and repetitive movements.
• Ability to safely operate housekeeping equipment, carts, and cleaning tools.
