UX/UI Designer

Residency All applicants must currently reside in the United States Overview BigBear.ai is seeking a UI design, UX design, and front-end development to join our growing company. You will be natural at understanding human-computer interaction design (HCID), in coming up with elegant solutions to improve our application, and in developing on (tech stack: e.g., a modern Java based web applications, Angular/React/Vue. What you will do Conduct research and deconstruct our users’ digital interactions and habits Come up with UI and UX strategies based on our target goals Create and maintain digital assets, such as interface design files, wireframes, and interactive mockups using (Design and prototyping tools: e.g., Sketch and InVision) Design, build, and maintain highly reusable JavaScript, HTML and CSS code Java based web applications, Angular/React/Vue. Understand the limitations of our tech stack and business model and provide technical advice wherever necessary Collaborate with stakeholders and development teams to understand business requirements, user needs, and technical constraints Analyse existing workflows and identify usability issues Develop wireframes, mockups and working prototypes Create and maintain design systems, reusable components, style guides, and UI standards Proficiency with FIGMA or similar prototyping tools Strong understanding of user-centered design principles, usability heuristics, responsive design, and accessibility What you need to have Bachelor's Degree and 5 to 10 years of experience 5+ years of experience working and developing applications in modern JavaScript libraries such as Vue, React, and Angular A portfolio or live examples of code produced Knowledge of pre-processors/transpilers such as PUG/SCSS/Babel Experience working with NodeJS Experience with GIT and familiarity with code versioning practices on large teams, i.e., branching strategies, pull requests, code reviews, etc. Experience with Java based web applications Proficient with image authoring tools like Photoshop or Illustrator Proficient with wireframing/design tools like Mock Plus, Sketch, Figma, or Adobe XD A portfolio that demonstrates both JavaScript proficiency and understanding of SOLID design principles (plugins, node packages, etc.) Expert knowledge of CSS, CSS extension languages (Less, Sass), and CSS preprocessor tools Expert knowledge of HTML5 and its best practices Proficiency in designing interfaces and building clickable prototypes using (Sketch, InVision, Axure, etc) Proficiency in using Git version control Proficiency using the command line What we'd like you to have Experience working with Angular, React, or Vue, with a preference for Angular, and developing within Java-based web application environments Strong ability to translate business and user needs into intuitive, user-centered designs while balancing technical constraints and development requirements Experience collaborating closely with stakeholders, UX/UI designers, and development teams throughout the design and development lifecycle A strong eye for visual design, usability, accessibility, responsive design, and user experience, with a passion for creating clean and intuitive interfaces Experience creating and maintaining design systems, reusable UI components, style guides, and design standards Proficiency with Figma or similar UI/UX design and prototyping tools, with the ability to develop wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes Pay transparency Please note the targeted compensation range is provided as an estimate, and any actual compensation offer may vary depending on the needs of the company, or an applicant's skillset, competencies, experience, education, certifications, location, or other factors.
