Path Student Assistant Specialist - FWS

Reporting to the Senior HR Strategy Partner, the Student Assistant Specialist supports the team by assisting in responding to inquiries and assisting with hiring and I-9 verifications. This position provides prompt responses to general inquiries via the HR inbox and connects employees with resources or other HR colleagues for specialized assistance. This position provides a high level of customer service and professionalism in all interactions.

CORE CAPABILITIES AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Student Hire Processing & Onboarding

• Review student hiring submissions for accuracy and completeness.
• Track outstanding onboarding requirements and proactively follow up on missing documentation.
• Maintain clear, consistent communication with hiring managers and campus partners regarding onboarding statuses and potential start-date delays.
• Identify and escalate compliance or onboarding bottlenecks to the appropriate HR team members.

I-9 & Verification Compliance

• Assist with the completion of section two of the Form I-9 employment eligibility verification.
• Update and monitor the I-9 Appointment log and associated communications to new hires.

Customer Service & Support:

• Monitor multiple HR inboxes and associated responsibilities, resolve general inquiries with high professionalism, and escalate complex requests to specialized HR colleagues as needed.
• Assist with request form entry

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• One to 2 years of related professional-level work experience; OR equivalent work experience
• Effective written communication and customer service skills
• General working knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and practices
• Demonstrated ability to effectively balance multiple tasks and inquiries
• Federal Work Study Award

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in higher education or a student employment office
• Basic familiarization or direct experience with Form I-9 completion (Section 2 verification), employment eligibility rules, and confidential record-keeping.

WORK MODE : HYBRID #LI-DNI

HOURLY RATE: $17-21 per hour
