Yard Hostler
We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Yard Hostler to efficiently move trailers within our yard and assist with the smooth flow of inbound and outbound freight. The ideal candidate will have experience operating yard tractors and a strong commitment to safety and teamwork. Key Responsibilities:
- Move trailers to and from loading docks, yard locations, and staging areas
- Safely operate yard trucks/hostler trucks in compliance with company policies and DOT regulations
- Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections on equipment
- Communicate with warehouse and transportation teams to coordinate trailer movements
- Maintain accurate records of trailer locations and movements
- Report any mechanical issues or safety concerns immediately
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a yard hostler or in a similar role preferred
- Valid driver's license (CDL is a plus but not always required)
- Strong understanding of yard safety protocols and equipment handling
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
