Medical Counselor

The Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) will provide oversight to the operation and management of the Mount Mary University (MMU) Counseling and Wellness Center (CWC). Current licensure as a licensed LPC in Wisconsin is required. Duties include clinical supervision for both master's and doctoral students, development of policies and procedures, and collaboration with other units on campus. Clinical supervision to doctoral and/or master's-level counseling students, as well as, graduate assistants assigned to the CWC. Demonstrate a strong commitment to multicultural and social justice counseling competencies as evidenced in clinical work and supervision. Collaborate (via the prescribed evaluation process) with the Practicum and Internship Coordinator to ensure that both master's and doctoral-level student interns reach developmentally appropriate clinical competency. Provide leadership within a counseling clinic, including the ability to promote the CWC and develop partnerships and collaborate with stakeholders within the university and the local community. Development and oversight of CWC policies and procedures. Monitor compliance with legal and ethical issues, and quality standards of trainees within the CWC. Review and approve case notes and treatment plans of counselors-in-training. Perform Other Duties, Responsibilities, Or Special Projects As Assigned. Experience working in a University counseling center or with young adults. Strong working knowledge and understanding of established professional codes of ethics and best practices in multicultural and social justice competencies and supervision. experience working with underrepresented students and students from at-risk backgrounds. Outstanding verbal, writing, and presentation skills; Exceptional ability to multitask and prioritize projects.
