Works collaboratively within the branch and through various channels with BMO partners to deliver the desired customer experience and achieve overall business objectives. Responsibilities Proactively engage with existing customers and prospects, conducting needs‑based assessments to grow loyalty and identify immediate and future opportunities. Recommend tailored financial solutions, including everyday banking, retail investments, lending solutions, home financing (including business‑for‑self applications), and small business solutions, while providing guidance on digital and self‑serve options. Support customer transaction needs based on customer traffic. Generate appointments and build new relationships within the community to grow BMO’s business. Address questions and resolve issues raised through consumer credit audits and quality checks, ensuring accurate data entry and lending application recommendations in compliance with legal, regulatory, and lending policies. Apply the risk management framework to the portfolio to protect the Bank’s assets and maintain portfolio quality in compliance with yield, quality, diversification, and risk guidelines. Make credit recommendations for personal lending transactions, including home financing, in accordance with sound credit‑granting principles. Integrate marketing promotions and programs into customer conversations to provide strategic advice. Organize work information to ensure accuracy and completeness, and find creative approaches that personalize each customer experience. Contribute to ongoing improvement of the overall customer experience and the business results delivered. Follow risk and compliance processes and policies to safeguard customers’ assets, maintain privacy and act in customers’ best interests. Qualifications Typically 2–3 years of relevant experience and a post‑secondary degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. For Canada: registration to sell investment products completed (as appropriate for the jurisdiction). Appropriate lending qualifications and designations. Working knowledge of personal and small business customer needs and solutions. Working knowledge of retail investments and lending products. Experience in financial services and a consultative customer service or sales role. Proficiency with social media, tablets, smartphones, online tools, and applications. Drive to deliver a personal customer experience, focus on results, and ability to thrive in a consultative sales and team‑based environment. Resourceful self‑starter with confidence to approach customers and strong interpersonal skills. Ability to build rapport, listen, solve problems, and respond flexibly and creatively to new challenges. Specialized knowledge: verbal & written communication, organization, collaboration/teamwork, analysis and problem‑solving. For the U.S. only: originator of consumer loans as defined by Regulation Z, Regulation G, and the S.A.F.E. Act; Federal registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry required. U.S. positions also require a criminal background review and credit history evaluation and restriction on performing a real‑estate agent capacity.
