Eastern Staffing & Recruiting is hiring a Custodian for our client in the Owego, NY area. Under general supervision, this position will perform a variety of custodial and light grounds keeping work for our manufacturing client.

Responsibilities

• Sweeping wire and dust off the floor.
• Breaking down cardboard boxes for recycling.
• Cleans windows, walls, and light fixtures.
• Dust and cleans.
• Empties trash receptacles, deposits recyclable material in proper containers.
• Keeping the main production floor clean of debris and tripping hazards.
• Sweeps sidewalks and walkways outside of buildings; polices grounds, picking up debris; shovels snow and/or applies de-icing.
• Lift and/or move furniture, equipment, and supplies.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• General knowledge of the standard methods, materials, and equipment employed in custodial work.
• General knowledge of safety precautions and warnings signals regarding building equipment.
• Knowledge of cleaning procedures and the use of cleaning materials.
• Ability to follow instructions and stay organized.
• Exercise independent judgment and initiative in completing assignments.

The estimated hourly salary range for this position is $16.50, though a candidate's salary will be determined on a range of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications and experience. Qualified candidates, please apply.
