We take pride in being at the forefront of golf course maintenance technology. The implementation of a hydronics system under the greens demonstrates a commitment to providing not only a world‑class golfing experience but also a course that incorporates the latest advancements in Turf Management. Our rich history dates back to 1964 with hosting a PGA tour event for 30 years and the Inaugural Players Championship in 1974. In 2025, Atlanta CC hosted the Georgia Men’s State Amateur golf tournament. We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Turfgrass Intern to join our grounds crew team. As an intern at the Atlanta Country Club, you will have the unique opportunity to work on several new features and technologies highlighted by a state‑of‑the‑art hydronic heating and cooling system for our greens. You will be an essential part of our team, contributing to the maintenance and improvement of our course while gaining valuable hands‑on experience in the field. Complete Renovation on: Tees, Fairways, and Greens. Complete Bunker Redesign and Rebuild using Bunker Solutions lining system. Complete Irrigation system replacement to HDPE piping and Toro 2-wire technology. Design changes on select golf holes with a new short‑game and practice area. XGD Drainage installed under fairways for improved course drainage. Cutting‑edge hydronics system installed under greens. Opportunity to Learn About Hydronics: Interns will have the unique opportunity to learn more about hydronics and how to run the system. Learn and assist in using GPS units to plot coordinates and map underground points of interest. (This can help boost a resume for future employment experience) Requirements Participate in day‑to‑day scheduling of grounds maintenance activities. Assist in hand‑watering and overall water management to ensure optimal course conditions. Learn and assist in chemical and fertilizer planning and application procedures. Contribute to cultural practices that enhance the quality of our course. Receive training with our Equipment Manager in our well‑equipped maintenance shop. Assist in club tournament preparation and execution, contributing to the success of our events. Engage in industry networking opportunities to expand your professional connections. Have the chance to volunteer and network during special golf events hosted at our club. Educational Requirements Enrollment in a 2 or 4 year turf program. Experience Requirements Basic knowledge of turfgrass management practices is a plus, but not required. Special Requirements Enthusiasm for the golf course maintenance industry. Willingness to learn and work effectively in a team‑oriented environment. Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
