Job Title
The primary function of this position is to weld, fabricate and re-work cases and housings. You will also be responsible for helping Drivetrain Technicians with daily welding and fabricating needs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Get direction from shop leads on priority of work.
- Perform re-work functions as described by shop leads.
- Ability to weld aluminum, cast iron, and magnesium.
Work with machinists on projects that require welding.
- Ensure the finished weld is in good working order and cosmetically up to standards.
- Inform maintenance when machinery breakdown occurs.
- Maintain a clean and safe work space.
- Other tasks as directed.
- Will conduct these responsibilities in a professional and timely manner.
- Able to work well with others.
- Always wear proper PPE.
Requirements
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Basic automotive and mechanical skills.
- Experience using basic power tools.
Capable of using plasma cutter and torch.
- Ability to weld MiG/TIG and wire feed.
Knowledge and personal attributes:
- Able to work independently.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Attention to detail.
