Virginia Beach, Virginia Pay From: $30 per hour MUST We are looking for a positive, friendly individual to join our team! Must be available to work three 12 hour shifts or flex hours to include evenings and every other weekend. Experienced X-Ray Technician One year of clinical experience preferred Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Licensed to practice as Radiologic Technologist or a Limited Radiologic Technologist by the state of Virginia Willing to help out in all areas of the office Limited Radiologic Technologist must be licensed to practice in the following anatomical areas: chest/thorax, extremities, skull/sinuses, spine and abdomen/pelvis. Knowledge of medical terminology. Exceptional customer service skills. High attention to detail and strong time management skills. Ability to multi-task under pressure efficiently and effectively. Ability to work autonomously in a small group, but be a team player

DUTIES:

• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by keeping up with continuing education and continuing to learn.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Gains patient cooperation by reducing anxieties; providing explanations of treatment; answering questions.
• Prepares patient for radiological procedure by positioning patient; adjusting immobilization devices; moving equipment into specified position; adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors.
• Minimizes radiation to patients and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques, using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding, and knowledge of exposure factors.
• Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols; following drug protocols in case of reactions to drugs, such as contrast media, administering first aid, and using the emergency cart.
• Works with other clinical staff and physician to deliver exceptional patient care
• Fill out all of the required paperwork for each procedure or radiographic exam including any studies that the facility may be participating in. Assist in retrieving and stocking supplies for procedures
