Your Role and Responsibilities

• Performing thorough patient evaluations, ordering necessary diagnostic procedures, and developing tailored care plans
• Diagnosing and addressing acute, episodic, or chronic health issues, collaborating with physicians or independently based on your qualifications
• Informing patients and their families about prevention, wellness practices, and disease management
• Prescribing medications and therapies consistent with your licensure
• Engaging in patient follow-up and chronic care initiatives
• Working cooperatively with interdisciplinary teams to deliver integrated, comprehensive care
• Accurately documenting within electronic medical records (EMR)

Education Criteria

• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
• Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program

Necessary Certifications

• Active Nurse Practitioner licensure in the state of Virginia
• National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP, or ANCC) or the equivalent
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or willingness to obtain within 90 days)
