What Your Role Entails

• Performing thorough patient evaluations, ordering necessary diagnostic tests, and devising personalized care strategies
• Diagnosing and managing acute, episodic, or chronic illnesses, collaborating with physicians or independently as per your credentials
• Instructing patients and their families on preventive care, wellness practices, and effective disease management
• Prescribing medications and therapies in accordance with your scope of practice
• Engaging in patient follow-ups and managing chronic conditions
• Working with interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive, person-centered care
• Accurately documenting all patient interactions within electronic medical records (EMR)

Educational Requirements

• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
• Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program

Essential Certifications

• Active Nurse Practitioner license in Virginia
• National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP or ANCC) or a similar specialty
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
