Registered Nurse - 36 hours per week

This includes recognition of the importance of quality customer service to patients, visitors and staff. Each RN/LPN/LNA/MA has the following responsibilities:
- Responsibility: works independently in a safe and appropriate manner.
- Sensitivity: displays sensitivity and empathy to the needs of patients, visitors and staff.
- Timeliness: recognizes time as a most valuable resource and responds promptly to patients, visitors and staff.
- Accuracy: works carefully and precisely with attention to detail.
- Coordination: prioritizes delivery of care and utilizes resources to maximize efficiency.
- Accountability: meets requirements of position. Able to evaluate and implement changes to meet patient needs.
RN/LPN: Registered Nurses are responsible for the delivery of safe, timely and appropriate patient care through the use of the nursing process. The Registered Nurse provides individualized care, education and support which addresses the immediate and anticipated needs of the patient and family across the care continuum.
Position may require the ability to float to multiple physician practices performing both clinical and clerical tasks as determined by need.
Collecting data and conducting focused nursing assessments of the health status of clients. Planning nursing care for clients with stable conditions.
Participating in the development and modification of the comprehensive plan of care for all types of clients. Implementing appropriate aspects of the strategy of care within the RN/LPN/LNA/MA scope of practice as indicated. Participating in nursing care management through delegating, assigning, and directing nursing interventions that may be performed by others. Maintaining safe and effective nursing care/clinical rendered directly or indirectly. Promoting a safe and therapeutic environment. Participating in health teaching and counseling to promote, attain, and maintain the optimum health level of clients. Serving as an advocate for the client by communicating and collaborating with other health service personnel. Participating in the evaluation of client responses to interventions. Communicating and collaborating with other health care professionals. Providing input into the development of policies and procedures.
Other nursing services that require education and training prescribed by the appropriate board and in conformance with national nursing/medical assistant standards. Additional nursing services shall be commensurate with the RN/LPN/LNA/MA experience, continuing education, and demonstrated competencies.
Perform selected clinical and administrative duties. Assist providers in preparing for physicals, procedures and minor surgeries. Administer immunizations and injections as ordered by provider. Prepare patients for examination and treatment. Take patient histories and vital signs, specimen collection and analysis and perform EKGs. Change dressings and do wound care. Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments. Maintain supplies and equipment. Remove sutures and castings. Assist with scheduling of tests and treatments and follows through with referrals and pre-certifications as necessary. Call or fax prescriptions, under physician's direction. Screens telephone calls for referral to physician. Assist with ordering and maintaining clinical and office supplies and equipment. Maintain patient files, records and other information according to hospital standards. Attend required meetings and participate in committees as requested. Participate in professional development activities and maintain professional affiliations. Adhere to hospital, department and compliance policies, procedures, regulations and laws (OSHA, DEA, CLIA, etc.). Greet patients and family members. Assist the providers with the administrative aspects of their position to ensure the efficient operation of the office on a day-to-day basis. Maintain confidentiality of peers, medical staff and all patient information. Maintain physician appointment scheduling and any changes to their schedules. Check patients in/out for their appointments. Schedule patients for return appointments and appointments with other departments. Obtain insurance referrals and pre-certifications as needed. Verify insurance eligibility. Inform patients of designated appointment times of any scheduled tests. Confirm next day appointments. Update and verify patient demographics and insurance information. Receive, screen and/or deliver telephone messages in a friendly, courteous manner. Process charts for appointments. Sort and prioritize incoming mail and correspondence and respond as indicated/appropriate. Order office supplies. Participate in ongoing education and updates. Implement physician orders under physician direction and notify patients of results as directed by physician. Perform related work as assigned. All other duties as assigned.
Experience/Specialized Skills: Must possess the ability to interact well with people and deal with stressful situations appropriately. Must possess excellent documentation skills. Must be flexible and able to work as a member of the team. Must have ability to understand medical records, provider's orders. Must have ability to communicate compassionately with patients, families, visitors, and other staff. May require travel to satellite offices. Prior OB/GYN and Triage medical office experience preferred
Required Education/Course(s)/Training: Must be currently licensed or eligible for licensure as a RN in New Hampshire. Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing (RN) All staff must possess and active BLS certification within 30 days of starting RN must possess an active ACLS certification (Pain Clinic only)
Frequent multi-tasking and prioritization of multiple patient needs is ongoing. Exposed to all patient elements; including exposure to human waste, blood and bodily fluid as well as hazardous substances is unavoidable.
