Machinist As a Machinist you will have the opportunity to shape metal, plastic, or other materials into precise parts, instruments, and tools. Interpret blueprints and CAD drawings, set up and operate machinery, and inspect finished parts to ensure accuracy and quality! Location: Eastford, CT This is a full-time role 3:30 pm to Midnight, Monday through Friday with occasional weekends. Responsibilities Review drawings, and instructions to understand specifications Monitor machines while running changing tools, offsets when necessary Operate multiple machines simultaneously Inspect output using basic inspection equipment and quick-check gaging Use Kaizen to flow parts and drive down costs Performs other related duties as assigned Responsible for accurately completing paperwork relating to counts, scrap, time according to Company policy Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis. Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations. Preferred Qualifications Strong mechanical skills 1+ year experience in setup and operation of CNC mills and/or lathes Ability to use air and electric tools to remove metal Willingness to learn new skills Self-starter/motivated team player Perform secondary operations as required: Deburring, Assembly, Marking, etc. Ability to make tool adjustments and changes Good math skills, with the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals Working Conditions Requires mobility in a manufacturing plant environment while using Personal Protective Equipment. Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk. Perform repetitive tasks Must be able to lift and carry up to 30-50 pounds. Must be able to have prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. The above job description is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of duties and standards of the position.
