Family Law Attorney

The King Law Group, LLC is a Columbus-based family law firm focused on guiding clients through divorce with clarity, efficiency, and purpose. The firm handles divorce and dissolution, including high-asset and complex property division matters, along with child custody and parenting time, child and spousal support, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, civil protection orders, mediation, and post-decree modification and enforcement. The firm practices in Franklin County and throughout central Ohio, including Delaware, Union, Licking, and Fairfield Counties. The firm believes clients deserve more than generic representation. Some cases are well suited to mediation or negotiation; others require aggressive litigation. Role Description The Family Law Attorney will handle a diverse caseload involving divorce, custody, support, and related domestic relations matters from intake through resolution, with responsibility scaled to experience — newer attorneys build a caseload with close mentorship, while experienced attorneys run their own matters from day one. Day-to-day responsibilities include meeting with clients, assessing legal issues, drafting and filing motions and pleadings, conducting discovery, preparing and taking depositions as needed, and representing clients in hearings, mediations, and trials. The attorney will collaborate with colleagues on case strategy, maintain accurate and timely case documentation, and ensure clear, consistent communication with clients throughout their matter. This is a full-time hybrid role based in Columbus, OH, with a mix of in-office work and some work from home. Qualifications Attorneys at all experience levels are encouraged to apply, including newly admitted attorneys and recent graduates. Candidates with 3+ years of family law experience may be considered for a senior associate title and caseload. Interest in and aptitude for Family Law — divorce, custody, support, property division, and related domestic relations matters. Substantive family law experience is welcome; for newer attorneys, relevant clerkships, internships, externships, or clinic work count. Ability (or readiness to develop the ability) to draft and argue Motions, including pre-trial, evidentiary, and post-judgment filings. Comfort preparing for and conducting Depositions and managing discovery in contested matters, with training and support provided where needed. Courtroom experience in domestic relations or juvenile court is a plus; newer attorneys will get in-court experience early, with mentorship and second-chairing before appearing alone. Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active license to practice law in Ohio (or eligibility for prompt admission, including pending bar results). Familiarity with practice in Franklin County Domestic Relations Court and surrounding central Ohio courts is preferred. Ability to manage a busy caseload, prioritize competing deadlines, and work both independently and as part of a team. Excellent written and oral advocacy skills, strong negotiation and mediation abilities, and a client-centered approach. Experience with high-asset divorce, business or retirement asset valuation, high-conflict custody matters, or guardian ad litem work is highly beneficial. #J-18808-Ljbffr
