We are looking for a driven and curious Associate Civil Engineer to support our federal team in a hybrid capacity at our Arlington office.As a key member of our team, you’ll join our collaborative process providing our clients with award-winning planning, engineering, architectural design, construction management, and design-build project delivery. The ideal candidate is one who is passionate about civil site design, as well as Civil Works projects that address our country’s water, resiliency, and disaster recovery challenges through measures such as floodwalls and stormwater pump stations. You’ll have the opportunity to work in a team environment and coordinate project assignments with other engineers and technicians in and out of your discipline group, as well as with clients and end users in Federal Civilian and Department of Defense (DoD) government agencies. Act as Engineer of Record on projects scoped specifically within area of expertise and experiencePlan and execute work independently while performing non-routine and complex assignments based on high-level instructionsWork closely with multi-disciplinary design teams and project managersResearch, interpret, and implement regulatory code requirements and design standardsPrepare engineering assessment reports and design documents, including plans, specifications, calculations, and basis of design reportsProvide technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship to technicians and less experienced engineersAnalyze sketches, notes and other input material to determine and plan the best approach to develop designs with minimal supervisionContinually develop skills by being proactive in advancing your own workflows, systems, tools, and communication techniquesOccasionally travel to project and client sites for observations, meetings, and presentations Here's what you'll need Bachelors Degree in Civil EngineeringRegistration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in at least one stateAt least 8 years of experience with civil site development projects and/or civil works infrastructure projectsDetailed knowledge of civil site and infrastructure design, including site layout, pavements, grading, utilities, drainage, stormwater management and erosion & sediment control. Experience with H&H modeling software is a plusBasic knowledge of architecture and related engineering disciplinesAttention to detail and commitment to qualityFamiliarity with applicable federal codes and standards, including Unified Facilities Criteria (UFCs)United States CitizenshipExpertise with AutoCAD Civil 3D design softwareExperience with Bluebeam software#LI-KS7Our health and welfare benefits are designed to invest in you, and in the things you care about.
