Banquet Houseperson

Hilton Charlotte University Place • Charlotte, NC, US The banquet houseman (or banquet houseperson) sets up, maintains, and breaks down event spaces like ballrooms and meeting rooms according to event orders. Room Setup: Arrange tables, chairs, dance floors, and staging according to Banquet Event Orders (BEOs). Event Support: Refresh meeting rooms during breaks, restock supplies, and handle on-the-fly room adjustments. Cleanliness & Maintenance: Keep storage areas, back-of-house hallways, and event spaces clean, organized, and free of safety hazards. Breakdown: Dismantle event setups quickly and safely return furniture and equipment to designated storage spaces. Cross-Departmental Help: Assist servers, bartenders, or the audio-visual team as needed during large functions. Physical Stamina: Ability to stand and walk for long shifts and frequently lift heavy objects (often up to 50 lbs or more). Attention to Detail: Ability to read and execute precise diagrams and instructions from event orders. Time Management: Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment to meet strict event timelines. Experience: Previous hospitality or banquet setup experience is often preferred by employers.
