Radiology - CT Tech

CT TechnologistReporting to the Section Leader of CT, the CT Technologist uses computed tomography to produce images that assist in the diagnosis of disease and injury.Secures diagnostic images using complex equipment and techniques to provide comprehensive care appropriate to patients of all ages.Complies with all Federal and State regulations and departmental rules for radiation control.Participates in and documents annual education, including concepts of dose optimization in Image Wisely and Image Gently, along with safe operating procedures.Supports strategic development of CT services to meet changing customer needs and ensure service growth.Assists in developing and initiating procedures for efficient unit operation.Adheres to all Joint Commission, state, federal, and local regulatory laws, standards, and protocols.Promotes effective relationships within and outside the department.Complies with departmental and organizational policies and procedures.Ensures patient quality standards are upheld for all age groups from neonate to geriatric.Stays updated on the latest trends in CT technology.Practices basic patient education skills.Accurately documents patient medical information.Follows patient identification protocols diligently.Assists in evaluating new imaging equipment as necessary.Interacts professionally with patients, vendors, co-workers, and medical staff.Acts as a preceptor for new hires.Trains students, interns, and externs as required.Promotes service excellence.Maintains performance standards.Completes mandatory competencies, Healthstream courses, and maintains relevant licensure, certifications, and accreditations.Serves on hospital and Imaging Services committees as needed.Supports patients' rights to care, privacy, and respect.Performs other duties as assigned.Client Details State MAEducation: Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or Nuclear Medicine.Experience: Two or more years of experience as a CT Technologist is preferred.Licensure and/or Certification:Current advanced ARRT CT registration is strongly preferred.Current licensure as a Radiologic Technologist or CT Technologist in Massachusetts is required.BLS healthcare provider certification is required.
