Job Title: LPN Educator
Location: Elemental Management Group – Oswego, New York
Schedule: Per Diem
Pay: $28-$30/hr - Based on Experience

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Practical Nurse ( LPN ) Clinical Nurse Instructor to join our healthcare education team. The Clinical Nurse Instructor will play a vital role in developing the next generation of healthcare professionals by providing hands-on clinical instruction, mentoring students, and ensuring compliance with state and federal training requirements.

The ideal candidate is passionate about teaching, possesses strong clinical skills, and is committed to fostering a positive learning environment that promotes student success and quality patient care.

 

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical instruction and supervision to nurse aide and healthcare students in long-term care and healthcare settings.

• Demonstrate nursing procedures and assist students in developing competency in clinical skills.

• Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback to support learning and professional growth.

• Maintain accurate student records, attendance, competency evaluations, and clinical documentation.

• Collaborate with the Education Department and facility leadership to coordinate clinical experiences.

• Ensure all training activities comply with applicable state regulations, Department of Health requirements, facility policies, and program standards.

• Promote a culture of safety, professionalism, and excellence in patient care.

• Serve as a mentor and role model for students entering the healthcare profession.

• Participate in instructor meetings, curriculum updates, and educational initiatives as needed.

 

Qualifications

Required:

• Current, unrestricted LPN license in the state of practice.

• Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience.

• At least one (1) full year of experience working in a long-term care facility.

• Thorough knowledge of Department of Health regulations and compliance requirements related to long-term care facilities.

• Strong clinical knowledge and understanding of resident-centered care practices.

• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to teach, motivate, and support adult learners.

• Proficiency with electronic documentation systems and learning management platforms.
  

Preferred:

• Previous teaching, preceptor, or staff development experience.

• Experience with Nurse Aide Training Programs (NATP).

• Knowledge of state nurse aide training and certification requirements.

• Experience participating in regulatory surveys, quality assurance initiatives, or compliance programs within a long-term care setting.
