Visual Merchandise Assistant

$20.29 / hour Overview The Visual Merchandise Assistant supports the Visual Merchandise Supervisor and helps create and maintain appealing and effective product displays in retail environments throughout Knott's Berry Farm theme park, Knott's Marketplace shopping area, Knott's Hotel, and Knott's Soak City water park. The assistant may also be called upon to support activations and seasonal events beyond the property. The role involves a combination of creative, administrative, and logistical tasks to enhance the guest experience and drive sales. Responsibilities Uphold visual merchandising standards Assist the Supervisor in designing and implementing displays Source materials Stay on trend Create visual aids Handle and track product samples for display purposes Assist with inventory management to ensure timely availability of products for displays Help create and manage schedules for display installations and changes Manage paperwork and files related to visual merchandising guidelines and projects Provide guest service Analyze performance Qualifications At least one year of experience in design, retail, or a related field Strong sense of style, color, and layout Understanding of composition, balance, and how to create visually engaging spaces Up-to-date with current fashion, design, and retail trends Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and maintain a structured workplace Experience planning, coordinating, and executing visual merchandising or similar projects from start to finish Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines, especially during store setup or seasonal changes Ability to identify issues and find creative solutions to challenges during the display process Ability to frequently engage in physical work, including lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, crouching, climbing ladders, walking extended distances, and standing for extended periods Clear and effective communication, both written and verbal, to collaborate with team members and explain design concepts and provide feedback Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with other assistants, store staff, supervisors, and managers Understanding of guest preferences and how to create displays that appeal to the target audience Proficiency with design software such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator (preferred) Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams Experience with retail and inventory systems (preferred) Understanding and appreciation for the rich history of Knott's Berry Farm and the nuances of a heavily themed amusement environment Available to work a variety of days and times, including nights, weekends, and holidays Certifications Driver's License #J-18808-Ljbffr
