Department : Information Science Technology Salary : Commensurate with experience Description : The Information Science Technology Department at the University of Houston Sugar Land is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a full-time, non-tenure track, Lecturer position. This position is open to applicants with expertise in the Computer Information Systems field, with a focus on supporting both undergraduate and graduate-level courses. As a full-time Lecturer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, engaging with students, and contributing to the success of the Computer Information Systems program. You may also collaborate with the Master’s Program in Cybersecurity, depending on semester needs. Teach undergraduate and graduate-level courses in the Computer Information Systems program. Work collaboratively with the Master's Program in Cybersecurity as needed. Develop and implement effective course materials and assessments. Provide academic support and mentorship to students. Participate in departmental meetings and activities. Teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate level is preferred. Strong knowledge and expertise in Computer Information Systems. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Lecturer appointments are made on a semester basis. Interested candidates should indicate the courses they are interested in teaching. Qualified and interested candidates are encouraged to apply. Ideal candidates will have either a minimum of a Master's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field for teaching at the Undergraduate level, or a PhD in either Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or Data Science for teaching at the graduate level. Employees are expected to have a home address in the state of Texas for the duration of their appointments. Official transcripts are required for a faculty appointment and will be requested upon selection of the final candidates.
