They work with software, choose cutting tools, and ensure the machine functions correctly and produces high-quality parts.Essential Functions Performed by the PositionInterpreting Blueprints and Designs:Understanding technical drawings, specifications, and design models to determine the desired shape, dimensions, and tolerances of the final product.Developing CNC Programs:Creating and modifying G-code or other programming languages to instruct the CNC machine on how to cut and shape the material, including toolpaths, speeds, feeds, and other machine parameters.Optimize program efficiency to fully utilize machine capabilities including adjusting tool paths, speed and feed rates.Choosing Cutting Tools and Fixtures:Selecting appropriate tools, fixtures, and other equipment based on the material, part geometry, and required accuracy.Setting Up and Adjusting Machines:Configuring the CNC machine for specific jobs, including tool selection, clamping, and other preparations.Testing and Troubleshooting:Verifying that the program functions correctly, identifying and resolving errors, and adjusting the program or machine settings as needed.Staying Current with Technology:Keeping up with advancements in CNC technology, programming languages, and manufacturing processes.QualificationsKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesTroubleshooting:Addressing any issues that arise during the manufacturing process, such as tool breakage, or program errors.Maintaining Tooling and Documentation:Keeping track of tooling inventory, maintaining tooling databases, and documenting the manufacturing process.Collaborating with Others:Working with engineers, machinists, and other team members to ensure efficient and accurate production of parts.Proactive communication with vendors to ensure tooling availability for production.Required Education and ExperienceDegree or certification or equivalent job experience.Five years' experience programming CNC lathes and/or mills.Blueprint reading is required with a high level of experience.Additional InformationThe benefits of joining our teamBecause we seek to hire the best people, we work hard to provide benefits that make their lives better, so we offer a comprehensive benefit program which features:health coverage for you and your family through medical, dental, and vision plansa 401(k) plan in with a generous company matchfinancial protection through disability, life, and accidental death & dismemberment insurance planstax advantages through flexible spending accounts that allow you to pay for specific health-care and dependent care expenses with pre-tax dollarsa generous paid time off program in which the benefits increase along with your tenure with the companyWhen you join our team, you do more than simply switch companies to progress your career.
