Pay as Cross Country posts it: about $2,339 a week in all, a taxable rate of $29.78 an hour plus $1,267 a week in housing and meal stipends.

Job Summary

Progressive Care Unit position. This role provides care for patients with complex cardiac, respiratory, vascular, neurological, endocrine, and postoperative conditions in a progressive care setting. Responsibilities include managing high-acuity patients, administering specialized medications and treatments, and supporting safe patient care during scheduled shifts.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years of experience; completion of at least one travel assignment; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; demonstrated competency caring for progressive care patients.
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM–7:30 AM or 7:00 AM–7:30 PM; minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience managing patients with congestive heart failure, respiratory distress, acute coronary syndrome, atrial fibrillation with rapid ventricular response, diabetes mellitus, diabetic ketoacidosis, cerebrovascular accident overflow, post-cardiac catheterization conditions, vascular and abdominal surgical conditions, and gastrointestinal conditions.
• Additional Information: Patient assignments are generally 4:1 during the day and 4:1 to 5:1 at night. Progressive care-level staff may be assigned to intensive care patients with vascular or diabetic ketoacidosis conditions at a maximum ratio of 1:3. Clinical responsibilities may include blood product administration, bilevel positive airway pressure, high-flow oxygen, chest tubes, wound vacuums, dressing changes, femoral arterial sheath monitoring, arterial lines, transcarotid artery revascularization recovery, femoral endarterectomy recovery, and management of medications including diltiazem, amiodarone, furosemide, nitroglycerin, and heparin. Weekend rotation is every other weekend. No on-call coverage is required. Professional scrubs of any color are acceptable.
