Registered Nurse (RN) - PCU

RN – Medical Oncology PCU

Schedule: 12-hour day/night rotating shifts.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years acute care RN experience
• At least 1 year PCU (progressive care) experience
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• EMR: Epic

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Provide high-acuity nursing care to adult patients in a progressive care unit focusing on oncology.
• Monitor telemetry and recognize dysrhythmias, utilizing rapid response protocols as needed.
• Administer medications, including blood products, and manage IV lines and PCA.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy, to optimize patient care.
• Perform nursing assessments, develop care plans, and ensure effective communication with patients and families.
• Participate in the education of patients regarding treatment and self-care strategies.

Compliance / Notes:

• Orientation duration: 72 hours
• Floating required within units of equivalent or lower acuity.
• Weekend coverage is variable based on unit needs.
