Make a lasting impact on students’ lives by providing essential physical therapy services across a variety of educational settings. This rewarding contract opportunity offers the chance to work with a diverse caseload of 35-45 students, delivering both direct and consult physical therapy minutes in self-contained and general education programs. Full-time availability is preferred, but part-time candidates will also be considered, with schedules that align with the school day and varying start/end times. Contribute your expertise in several local schools while helping students achieve greater independence and participate fully in school life.
The ideal candidate will have:
- MPT or DPT degree and a valid Illinois Physical Therapy License
- Experience or strong interest in school-based physical therapy settings
- Confidence traveling between multiple school sites, serving elementary through transition-age students
- Skills in conducting evaluations, developing and implementing individualized PT treatment plans
- Knowledge of assisting with and training on the use of positioning and mobility equipment
- Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary educational teams: teachers, paraprofessionals, therapists, and nurses
- Commitment to maintaining thorough documentation, including daily notes, progress reports, goal-building, and updates

- Provide physical therapy services to students to boost physical independence and participation
- Travel between several school sites, adapting your approach to a variety of classroom types and student needs
- Evaluate student needs, develop individualized care plans, and contribute to the wider educational mission
