About the role

We are seeking a creative, strategic, and performance-minded Copywriter and Content Strategist to join our retention team.


This role typically supports 6-7 assigned accounts and owns monthly email strategy, top-of-month content calendar planning, and copy execution across email and SMS campaigns and automations. The role also contributes landing page and ad copy to support acquisition efforts as needed.


Within its lane, this role owns copy and content strategy deliverables and works closely with strategists, project managers, designers, and clients to shape messaging direction, challenge briefs when needed, and ensure brand, performance, and timing goals are met throughout the creative process.


Responsibilities

• Own monthly email strategy and copy execution across 6-7 assigned accounts.
• Plan and maintain top-of-month content calendars as email concepts are developed.
• Write campaigns and automated email and SMS copy for assigned accounts.
• Write landing page and ad copy to support acquisition efforts when needed.
• Use performance data to refine messaging strategy and recommend next steps.
• Interpret insights from platforms such as Klaviyo, Shopify, and SMS reporting tools when needed to inform content and messaging decisions.
• Balance speed and quality in a fast-paced environment with compressed turnaround times, client communication delays, and last-minute pivots.
• Challenge briefs and help shape messaging direction when opportunities to improve clarity, brand alignment, or performance are identified.
• Collaborate effectively with strategists, project managers, designers, account managers, and clients throughout planning, development, and execution.
• Participate regularly in client onboardings and represent copy and content strategy needs clearly.
• Maintain high standards for grammar, spelling, punctuation, brand voice, organization of creative files, and final deliverable quality.
• Stay current on industry trends, testing approaches, and channel best practices to improve campaign performance.
• Contribute to department goals and share learnings that strengthen the broader copy team.
• Keep relevant copywriting and marketing certifications up to date.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience writing emails and ad copy for B2C or B2B brands.
• Strong portfolio showcasing successful acquisition and retention campaigns, including ads, landing pages, sales pages, emails, and SMS.
• Experience developing messaging and content recommendations informed by A/B testing and performance data.
• Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
• High attention to detail and a track record of producing accurate, brand-aligned work.
• Experience in eCommerce is required.

Additional Information

This is a fully remote role. Candidates must be able to work standard business hours (9:00am-5:00pm) in ET, CT, MT, or PT time zones.
